Proximity to Asheville
The Asheville Mountain House is located in East Asheville only one mile outside the City Limits. It’s a short 7 mile drive and only takes 15 minutes to get from the Mountain House to a downtown parking structure. Both Lyft and Uber are available if you choose not to drive. Even though we have an Asheville mailing address, the setting is very much in the mountains and gives you the feel of a remote, mountainside getaway. Just 5 minutes away are many conveniences such as a grocery store, drug store, restaurants and gas stations.
Discounted Biltmore Tickets
One of our favorite things to do while in Asheville is visit the Biltmore Estate gardens and grounds. The grand entrance to the Biltmore Estate is only 6.7 miles from the Mountain House and takes less than 15 minutes to get there. In addition to touring the house, we really enjoy exploring the walled garden and the many pathways running through the various gardens located adjacent to the home. The Antler Hill Village section of the Estate is where the winery is located and they have excellent prices on wine. Because we are annual pass holders, we can get our guests discounted tickets so don’t hesitate to contact us. Read a little bit about your hosts here.
The Blue Ridge Parkway
You’ll cross under a Blue Ridge Parkway tunnel on the way to the Mountain House. It’s about 2 miles before you get to the house. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is a short 3 mile drive from the Asheville Mountain House. There’s an excellent Visitor Center located about a mile south of the entrance to the Parkway that we highly recommend. Just north of the entrance to the Parkway is the Folk Art Center which is another “must see” if you drive the Blue Ridge Parkway.
